1. Introduction

Lexos ("we", "us", or "our") built the PlantMate mobile application ("PlantMate" or "the App") to help you care for your plants. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information when you use it. By using PlantMate, you agree to this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We do not collect personal data on our servers. PlantMate is designed to work offline. All information you enter stays on your device, including:

Plant names, nicknames, and care schedules
Care log entries (watering, misting, fertilizing, repotting)
Journal notes and issue tags
Plant and journal photos you choose to attach
App preferences (theme, gardener name, reminder settings)

This data is stored in your device's local storage (app database and preferences). Uninstalling the App removes this data from your device.

3. Permissions

PlantMate may request the following Android permissions:

Camera / Photos — Optional. Only used when you choose to take or select a plant photo. Images are saved locally on your device.
Notifications — Optional. Used to send watering reminders and daily care summaries you configure.
Internet — Used only when you tap "Rate us" to open the Google Play in-app review flow. The App works fully without internet for all plant care features.
Vibrate — Used for notification alerts.
Boot completed — Used to restore scheduled reminders after device restart.
Exact alarms — Used to deliver care reminders at the times you set.

You can deny optional permissions; core plant tracking still works without them.

4. Third-Party Services

PlantMate does not include advertising or third-party analytics SDKs. The only third-party interaction is:

Google Play In-App Review — If you choose to rate the App, Google's standard Play Store review dialog may appear. This is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. We do not transmit your plant data, photos, or journal entries to Lexos or any third party. Your data never leaves your device except when you explicitly use the Play Store review feature.

6. Children's Privacy

PlantMate is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Because we do not collect data on servers, no child data is stored by us. If you believe a child has provided information through the App, contact us and we will assist you.

7. Data Security

Your data is protected by your device's standard security (screen lock, encryption). We recommend keeping your device updated and using a screen lock to protect your plant data.

8. Your Choices

Delete data — Remove individual plants, care logs, or journal entries inside the App, or uninstall PlantMate to delete all local data.
Disable notifications — Turn off reminders in Settings or deny the notification permission in Android settings.
Deny camera access — You can use the App without adding photos.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
